Weaker than Water

"In the world, there is nothing more submissive and weak than water. Yet for attacking that which is hard and strong, nothing can surpass it." –Lao Tzu

Cat Pan

There’s something about cleaning a cat pan,

allowing the self to be mesmerized

by grey sand streaming through

slats of a light-blue scooper,

skimming the surface first,

then digging into a more resistant middle,

then diving to the bottom

where sticks the stubborn, less obvious,

like searching for some meaningful treasure.

  1. Quite something to locate a neat little poem within the detritus of a cat tray. Well done!

  2. Wow! Cleaning cat pans for seven must give you plenty of opportunity to observe the finer art of the act, Becca! 🙂 Thanks for visiting.

  3. Certainly a mindful moment for us cat guardians (or staff, I should say) … I have 7 of them … and your description is perfect!! Thank you for the smile at the end of a long day!! 😀
