Weaker than Water

SONY DSCThis fat (tabby?) I call my “desk kitty,”

pawing at my monitor,

pausing,

swishing her tail as she stalks my cursor–

she’s that soccer-ball-looking-thing,

our “cow cat,”

imperfectly shaped markings

with small white hairs poking through,

thick, greasy fur,

and a beautiful pink nose.

She is watching now,

my every backspace her new opportunity.

*Fiona is one of our cats, in case you hadn’t guessed.

  1. She IS cute, though like me, can be quite a moody bitch heh heh.

I try not to depend on the photo to make the point of the poem because otherwise, you’re relying on the picture instead of creating an image with words. Same thing with the poem I wrote based on your balloon going past Big Ben. I think you can read that poem without having seen the photo, but the photo is too cool to miss!

  2. Now that’s just cheating! Though I suppose not, as your poem is such a delight that you can be forgiven for posting the photo. She’s so CUTE!
